MSP430I2041: SD ADC: migration from MSP430AFE253 to MSP430i2041?

Part Number: MSP430I2041
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430AFE253, , MSP430WARE

Team,

I have looked at the "Answers to Common Sigma-Delta ADC Questions on MSP MCUs - SLAA957" app note.
-Do we have more SD ADC specific information on what to do to migrate an existing AFE253 design to i2041?
-Assuming that the signals that wil be sense have the same characteristics are there still some HW changes required in the signal chain to adapt to i2041 SD ADC?

-Also in term of SW are there some specific changes required? Since the same SW will be likely re-use what should be taken into account for porting the SD ADC portion?

Thanks in advance!

A.

  • Hi A.,

I believe this app note is the most detailed overview of the Sigma-Delta ADC Information we have, and we do not have any specific migration guides for MSP430AFE253 to MSP430i2041.

The overall application software shouldn't change that much (e.g. how the data is processed) but the clock and ADC setup code would change. For now, please refer to the MSP430i20xx code examples in MSP430Ware and the MSP430i2xxx User's Guide . We appreciate the feedback about making a migration guide and will bring this suggestion internally to the team.
