MSP-EXP430FR6989: MSP4306989 I2C communication with BOOSTXL-BASSENSORS Booster Pack

That is a newer version of the BOOSTXL-SENSORS boosterpack and may not have example code ready for it.

Thanks for the info.  I believe this code is for the MSO-EXP430FR5994 launchpad.  Is that relatively similar to what we would expect in the 6989?  I am a bit unfamiliar with these products.

Yes.  Both MSP430 MCUs will have same I2C (EUSCI-B) modules so the code written for FR5994 should port easily to FR6989. 

According the BOOSTXL-BASSENSORS user guide, there are examples but not for MSP430.

Since the important part of any demo will be the I2C communication between the MCU and sensor my suggestion would be to take a look at the BOOSTXL-BASSENSORS example code and focus on the I2C commands and data that is exchanged (the protocol).  Then look at one of the FR5994 examples and see how the EUSCI-B module is configured and sends/receives I2C data.  You can use that as a template and plug in the protocol used for the BOOSTXL-BASSENSORS sensors.

Hi Dennis, thank you for the info.  We have been struggling to port the I2Cdriver code to the MSP430FR6989, as we keep getting stuck on the while(!(UCB0IFG & UCTXIFG0)); loop with the UCTXIFG0 flag not being set.  Is there a better way to port this code?
