Hi Srinivas,

I'm confused by that former question you responded to? It was stated that the MSP430F5528I essential to be able to run the USS center! I'm running 'Ultrasonic Sensing Design Center(Water Mode)' with only the I2C interface! I even took off the JTAG jumpers.

I can imagine its just for programming/debugging via JTAG, but interfacing looks like just working with I2C! Since I want to use this to interface our custom hardware I hope for an answer of you soon?

Hi Laurent,

On the EVM, the communication over I2C between the MSP430FR6047 and the USS Design Center GUI happens through the labels COMM_SDA & COMM_SCL in the schematic. This goes through the J1 connectors 1-6 based on the schematic (https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/slar138). These are connected to HID-BRIDGE_SDA & HID-BRIDGE_SCL in the schematic which gets through to the USB connector via the MSP430F5528 COM MUNICATIONS HID-BRIDGE.

When you refer to the JTAG jumpers, are you referring to J3? These do not carry the I2C signals.

Hi Srinivas, thanks for quick reply. We understand now how it works so, we'll build this MSP430F5528 COMMUNICATIONS HID-BRIDGE interface.

We want leaving out the ezFET part! I guess thats no problem?

I already downloaded:

You should not need the ezFET portion for your custom board. That portion is included for debug purposes so that you do not need any additional debug probe like MSP-FET (https://www.ti.com/tool/MSP-FET).
