MSP430F67471: Clock input

Part Number: MSP430F67471

Team,

My customer is looking to replace current MSP430 with larger RAM device on the urgent design. They have identified the MSP430F67471 with 32k bytes of sram.

Their question is:

  • It does not have a X2 clock input that we currently use to operate the micro at 25mhz.
  • Is there some combination of internal oscillators and modulator settings that will get me to 25 mhz, and what would the stability of that operating clock be?

Thanks

Viktorija

  • Hi Viktorija,

Yes, the MSP430F67471 can generate at 25Mhz MCLK using its DCO.  To maintain good stability, the customer will need to use a 32Khz crystal connected to the LFXT1 oscillator.
