We are planning on using MSP430G2131 on DRV8838EVM.
The datasheet for DRV8838 MCU mentions that to expand beyond the included firmware capability the MSP430 is pre-programmed via an external stick development tool – EZ430. We are using EZ430-F2013 model. The datasheet for the same – EZ430-F2013 Development Tool User's Guide (Rev. E) (ti.com) – mentions about a MSP430 CD-ROM used for software installation.
1. Please advise if the CD-ROM comes with the EZ430 tool or do we need to buy it separately. Please also advise the alternative steps to follow in case we do not have the CD-ROM on hand. We have tried importing files from MSPWare however they do not seem suitable to our EVM.
2. Please also advice what features does EZ430 tool help add on to the included firmware capability of MSP430G2131 .
