MSP430F249: Flash memory corruption due to power off during Read process

Part Number: MSP430F249

Hi,

I would like to know the characteristics of the flash memory of MSP430.

(1)  Is it possible to damage the data of Flash memory by turning off the power during the read process?

(2)  If (1) is Yes, Do you have any information on the cause and probability of data corruption when the power is turned off while the flash memory is being read / written?

Thanks,

Koki

  • (1) It is not possible to damage the data of flash memory when turning off the power supply during the read process.

It is because the erase or write unexpected data into flash will need internal charge pump to provide high voltage for the execution.
