Could not find MSP-FET430UIF on specified COM port

Have no idea what to do with it. Tried what I found through google but so far no success.

Driver of UIF interface is not installed or some usual windows failure on driver.

Try connect UIF, locate driver on hardware manager, uninstall it, then unconnect UIF, wait a short while, reconnect and reinstall driver from your IDE driver directory.

I installed drivers again but still the debugee doesn't want to load :(

Go to devices management in your control panel and then to COM ports, then select your MSP device and update de drivers, in the window you will see a message that all goes well

Hi, i had a similar issue (communication error) and tried to update the driver from the device manager. The message displayed was that the drivers were up to date. However, the problem still persists. My USB ports are working fine as well.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Same problem. Using the following:

IAR Embedded Workbench 7.10.2,
MSP430F5418a on proprietary board
MSP-FET430UIF - USB COM9

I get the error (in picture attached) "Fatal error: Failed to re-initialize Session aborted!" and in log "Could not find MSP-FET430UIF on specified COM port: (Initialize), port=USB, version =0xffffffff"

I haven't found where to specify COM9 for the port.

Any help would be appreciated,

I think this may be related to the VMWare Player that I have loaded on my computer. Even if the VMWare is not running, the IAR and MSP-FET don't connect.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

On another "clean" computer I have the IAR and MSP-FET working and debugging, but VMWare can't be installed!
