MSP430 with DMX

Good morning,

Im interested in the MSP430 for lighting DMX control. Which is the cheapest MCU part number with the DMX function?? The application is spotlights with RGB LEDs.

I have one demo board (TPS62260LED-338) and it uses the MSP430F2131RGE model.

You have posted in the Make the Switch to TI MCUs Success Stories forum, but this isn't a Success Story (yet) - is it?

Take a look at: http://www.ti.com/ww/en/lighting/products.htm - There's an entry for "DMX-512 apps note / Third-party design" in the penultimate table...

I don't think there are any MCUs with any specific "DMX function" - you would have to implement it yourself in your own code.

There was an MSP430-based DMX project in Elektor magazine a while ago:
