MSP-FET430U5X100 and the MSP-FET430U100

will the MSP-FET430U5X100  program the same IC's that the MSP-FET430U100 program? i.e. the MSP430FG series. I need your help please because I have IC's from the MSP430FG serires and I have the MSP-FET430U5X100

    From the MSP430 Hardware Tools User's Guide SLAU278H:

    • MSP-FET430U100 (for MSP430F43x, MSP430F43x1, MSP430F44x, MSP430FG461x, and MSP430F47xx devices in 100-pin PZ packages)

    • MSP-TS430PZ5x100 (for MSP430F54xx(A) and the MSP430BT5190 devices in 100-pin PZ packages)

    i.e. the MSP-FET430U5X100 won't program the same IC's that the MSP-FET430U100 programs.

    From looking at the schematics for the target boards of the MSP-FET430U100 and MSP-TS430PZ5x100 the pin out for the JTAG / SBW signals are different, which explains why a different target board is required.
