Hi,

Regarding the new FRAM(Wolverine) series MSP430FR58xx.
Will it be pin compatible with the current FRAM series MSP430FR57xx.
I have heard there will be 38TSSOP package in MSP430FR58xx series.

One of our customer wants to use MSP430FRxx but, as they want 64KB FRAM,
for time being they will design the circuit with MSP430FR5739 and later change it to MSP430FR58xx.

Regards.

  • Paddu,

There will be pin compatibility in the 38 and 40 pin packages on the FR58xx for those of you out there who want to design today knowing you will have more memory space in the future.

FR58x/59x will also be available in 48-pin packages.

    Thanks,

The pinout is avialble today in the preliminary data sheet for the MSP430FR5969.  You can now order samples and try them in the MSP-FET430U48C board.

Would you be more specific?  Do you have a link, part number, or image of this evaluation board?

The MSP-FET430U48C board is the first board you can use to evaluate Wolverines series parts.  No other board is available at the moment.  However, this will not be the only Wolverine kit.

    Jan,

The websites should be fixed, and that board will not be purchasable for a while.  We plan to integrate more than just the new silicon, so stay tuned for some exciting software and toolchain capabilities.  We will be demoing this board in many more places, so come out to one of our events to discuss your use case.

    Thanks,
