MSP430FE423A: sporadic spikes in current values

Hi,

We are trying to make an energy meter using MSP430FE423A. Currently, we have built the circuit according to the App Note: SLAA203C

We are using a Current Shunt on the Neutral line. We are observing the values of VRMS, IRMS and Power calculated per second. The VRMS and Energy values are steady and show a proportional change with the load. But, the current values have some spiked values in between and seem to be inconsistent with other readings. The load is a 30W bulb.

Can someone please help me reason out the problem?
