Stop the erase of main code memory and information memory when the FET debugger is initailized.

MSP430BT5190 target. Doing a boot loader. Executing from RAM. I can use the FET debugger to debug the code in RAM. Using IAR. Using the Information memory to share information between two code bases. The FET debugger erases both Main: code memory and information memory when initialized. For debugging purposes how can I inhibit this?

  • Initializing the FET tool does not erase the device memory but starting a debug session might be the source of the issue. Have you tried using the "Debug without Downloading" option instead of "Download and Debug"? This will halt the MCU operation but should not erase any memory. Are you attempting to customize MSPBoot (SLAA600) to create a custom bootloader for your own purposes? Here are some support guides:
