Vendor of a capacitor on MSP-TS430RGC64B Bill of Materials

What is the vendor of the capacitor C7 (10uF, 6.3V, SMD0805) from p. 102 of http://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/slau278 ?

A customer is having trouble finding a X7R capacitor for a MSP430F532x design to put on DVCC.

They are worried about tolerances on the capacitors causing CDVCC/CVCORE Capacitor ratio of DVCC to VCORE  spec from the data sheet to go below 10.

Is there an adverse effect on the MSP430 if that happens?

  • Hi Joe,

Capacitor C7 is just a bulk cap that isn't required to be X7R. You should be able to use any cap that meets the requirements listed(10uF, 6.3V, SMD0805). Unfortunately, we don't have sourcing information on this part either.

This previous E2E post discusses the importance of the CDVCC/CVCORE ratio: F552x power supply bypass capacitors.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

    Best regards,
