What is the GPIO status on MSP430G2001 when DCO/VLO or MCU failed?

Normally the GPIO should stay at LO or HI when MCU failed.

Will GPIO toggle or unstable when MCU failed?

The GPIO status would depends on how the MCU failed. Could you specify the condition and flow of how the MCU failed?

The DCO and VLO are simple R-C oscillators and so, for practical purposes, cannot fail.

If, for some reason, the CPU stops executing, the GPIO pins stay at their last value.
If the MCU gets reset, the GPIO pins go to their start-up state, which is input (high impedance), so they could be floating.

Toggling is not possible unless some software toggles the pin state.
