MSP430FR2633: MSP-CAPT-FR2633 not running

Part Number: MSP430FR2633
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CAPTIVATE-BSWP

Hello,
I have the MSP-CAPT-FR2633 EVM. I can program the kit with the CAPTVATE-BSWP-Demo software. I launch the CapTivateDesignCenter and open the project CAPTIVATE-BSWP. I can connect to the EVM but nothing happen. I can't see any button or slider touch. LED5 is on, LED4 blinks, LED3 is off.

What could be the problem. I already had this board running 2 weeks ago.

Regards, Holger

  • Hello Holger,

Have you generated the CCS Project for the BSWP demo within the CapTIvate Design Center? After doing this, you must go to CCS, import the project to your local workspace and download it onto the device. After which you can debug or reset the part and then connect to it via Design Center.
  • Hello JH,

    > Have you generated the CCS Project for the BSWP demo within the CapTIvate Design Center?
I use the example project and import it into CCS. How can I generate a CCS project within CapTIvate Design Center?

    Regards, Holger
  • Hello Holger,

The example that comes downloaded with CapTIvate Design Center should work out of the box, but if you make changes to pin-out or tuning parameters, you will need to regenerate the source code from the CapTIvate Design Center. Double click ont he MSP430 Icon to open up its menu, and you will see a Generate Source Code Button. Please see the CapTIvate Technology Guide for more detailed information.

  • I removed the CCS project and the CaptivateCenter. Then I installed the newest CaptivateCenter from the web and reimported the projects into CCS. And now it runs.
