MSP430F5500: Support eMMC and USB Interface

Part Number: MSP430F5500

Hi Sir/Madam,

May I know is MSP430F5500 support eMMC and USB interface? The eMMC used is MTFC4GACAJCN-1M WT or MTFC8GAKAJCN-1M WT. Is there any lower cost option?

Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks.

  • Hello Hong,

According to the Interfacing the MSP430 With MMC/SD Flash Memory Cards app note, any MSP430 device with a hardware SPI interface can be used to interface with a MMC. According to its datasheet, the MSP430F5500 supports USB and also has several SPI modules. Thus, it appears that the F5500 can support both (assuming there's enough CPU bandwidth available). To find the lowest cost option, I'd recommend using our parametric search to find a MSP430 that supports USB and has at least one SPI interface (assuming the application doesn't require more).

    Hopefully this helps.

    Regards,

    James
