What is the difference between the MSP430Gxxxx and the MSP430Fxxxx?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430G2201

We are getting an external programming house to program the TI MSP430G2201 micros.

They have info readily avail on the MSP430F series, but not the MSP430G series.

Can you tell us the major differences between the 430F and 430G and whether it could affect chip programming of this part.

  • One difference between the Gxx & the 2xx is the presence of calibration data. (specifically DCO constants & ADC cal). For example, if your previous firmware uses any DCO constants other than 1MHz, it might not work on the Gxx silicon.
