MSP430F2001: Comparator number and wake up

Part Number: MSP430F2001

Hi,

Customer is using F2001 for low power application.

They'd like to use TWO pairs of external analog signals to wake up F2001.

In datasheet, it seems only one comparator. Is there any way to achieve customer's request?

Thanks a lot.

Br, Jordan

  • Hi Jordan,

Unfortunately, there is no way to do this without any additional hardware. There are multiple comparator inputs, but only one can be used at a time. One thing you could try is looking into using an analog or gate circuit. Additionally, the customer could use two MSP430F2001s with the two analog signals being compared with the first MSP430, and the resulting signal being fed into the comparator of the second MSP430. Also, if the customer is open to using a different MSP430, we could look into what could be the best option for that.

    Regards,
    Nathan
