MSP-EXPCC430RFX: Programming the satellite board

Part Number: MSP-EXPCC430RFX

My understanding of this development kit is that there's a single USB debug connection to a PC where I can run Code Studio. The user's guide talks very briefly about reprogramming the software, but does not make any distinction between programming the base board or the satellite board. I assume it wouldn't be much of a development kit if I couldn't reprogram both CC430Fx chips, but there is no description in the User's Guide of how to do so. Furthermore I presume that programming the satellite board's processor would be done while it is "mated" to the base board? Need some help understanding if this is the right kit for my development needs! User Guide is too sparse on details. There is an older generation kit (EM430F6137RF900, EM430F5137RF900) that I figure this kit replaces, it that right? Or do they serve different purposes?

Thanks
