Dear,

I am trying to use the Capacitive Touch Power Designer tool in:

http://www.ti.com/tool/MSPTOUCHPOWERDESIGNERGUI

But I have no luck. No parameter combination works. I cannot make it display anything else but the following:

On Windows 10, I tried using Compatibility Mode (Win7, winxp, win8) but no luck. Even copied parameters from User Guide. So! Any suggestion? :) Have a nice day!

  • Hello Kazola,

My apologies here as this webpage needs to be updated. We no longer support this GUI or the old Capacitive Touch Library.

We highly recommend moving to our CapTIvate enabled MCUs such as the MSP430FR2633 and the MSP430FR2522 along wit the the CapTIvate Design Center for your capacitive touch needs. www.ti.com/.../MSPCAPTDSNCTR
  • Yes!

    I have worked with msp430fr2633 and fdc2214.

    They are both great products.

I just wanted this GUI to calculate some current consumption without a multimeter :) My application is g2553 and really only has one proximity.

Is there any technical thing I could do to make this application operate? I mean a virtual machine or something similar?

Otherwise, feel free to mark the thread as "solved" and I will understand there is nothing I can do to even be able to play with this app on Windows 10. In fact I require no support at all for it :)

    Have a really nice day!

  • Hello Kazola,

It should be easier to be used in  Windows 7 vs W10 as I'm 99% sure it was developed on W7. Unfortunately, I'm unsure of what could be happening. If you just need power consumption numbers, you could use Energy Trace to get those. Now, it doesn't give you the instant feedback and ability to change touch parameters, but you could get power.
