MSP-ULTRASONIC-DESIGN-CENTER: USS Design Center installation/running on Ubuntu 18.04

Part Number: MSP-ULTRASONIC-DESIGN-CENTER

I am running the USS_1.71.02.02, the Ultrasonic Sensor Studio. I can't figure out how to resize the GUI window, the bottom is cut off on my 1360 x 768 screen. I can't resize and I can't move the window to access the lower window information. How can I accomplish this???

  • Garret,
We are aware of this problem and have fixed it, however, it will be made available on TI.com only in about 4-6 weeks. However, meanwhile, you could try one of these options

    1. Increase the display resolution, this only works if your PC display supports resolutions that is higher than what you currently have (1360 x 768).
    2. Another option that applies only to a Ubuntu user (as far as we know) is to take advantage of the panning viewport functionality where you can create a screen bigger than their physical screen.

We have not tried the 2nd option, but you could try and let us know if it worked. I hope this will get you going sooner than expected. Thanks

  • My laptop is maxed out at 1366 x 768 so option 1 isn't possible. However option 2 is a good work around and works on Ubuntu. I didn't know this existed.
Here is the command I finally got to work. The output eDP-1 was somewhat confusing.

    xrandr --output eDP-1 --rate 60 --mode 1366x768 --fb 1366x1024 --panning 1366x1024
  • Garret,
    Perfect. Thanks for the update.
