MSP430FR6047: [TIDM-1019] For Calibration by temperature

Part Number: MSP430FR6047
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDM-1019

Hello.

We are reviewing development ultrasonic sending water meter using your reference design. (TIDM-1019)

Does ultrasonic sending water meter reference design of TI support temperature-dependent calibration?

If it is supporting, please let have how to test using TIDM-1019 and if it is possible I want to get the related document.

Thank you.

  • Hi Wayne,
    We don't have a temperature-dependent calibration in TIDM-1019.

I suppose what you need is to get a higher accuracy of the volume.
    Based on this formula,
    Volume = constant × dTOF / (Tups × Tdns),
You can calibrate the constant based on the temperature to get a better accuracy.

  • Hi Cash,

Is this meaning they need to build temperature based calibration code/tools by themselves?
Is this meaning our solution is accurate enough without temperature based calibration tools?

    Best Regards,
    Ted
  • Hi Ted,

Is this meaning they need to build temperature based calibration code/tools by themselves?

[Cash] Yes. The customer will decide if they need to add a temperature calibration in their application by themselves.
Is this meaning our solution is accurate enough without temperature based calibration tools?
[Cash] The main output of our solution are three high accurate dTOF, Tups and Tdns results. These outputs do not need temperature calibration based on our solution in regular applications. However, temperature can affect the performance of transducers and the pipe. These effects eventually reflect in the constant in that formula. The influences are different in different customers because they use different pipe and transducers. It is their decision to add the temperature based on their platform.

    Best regards,

    Cash Hao
