MSP-EXP430FR2355: Help connecting peripherals / initializing low power setting

For a school project, the proposed device requires this MSP430 board to run and properly route an NFC tag, a SIM 9000 GSM module, and an RFID two tags system and an LCD screen / keypad. I was wondering what the best way to get all the proper libraries installed would be? I keep hearing i2c / SRP / and UART thrown around. Is there a great resource here that could help curtail the steep learning curve I have here.

I have CCS downloaded but i still have a problem with the device connecting sometimes. Could I have a code snippet of what connecting any peripheral device might look like?

what is the process of changing the power usage settings for this board?

what is the process of changing the power usage settings for this board? Launchpad is usually powered by USB cable. the external DC power supply is supported as well. Please check the user manual in: www.ti.com/.../msp-exp430fr2355

Thank you very much for the start. I'm still having some difficulties getting the board to be recognized by my computer / setting a terminal to view that the codes are being processed through the board. I think all of the libraries work finally. I got two different examples of light blinks to work. Thank you very much for the help. All thumbs when it comes to these matters.

What's the simplest resource available or perhaps someone from the community has an example of what an NFC tag connected to this board would look like? What are the compatible versions? Thanks for the info.
