Hello TI Community

I have bought a new msp430fr2355 launch pad. I was doing my setup coding test on that board using energia as a fast tool. I tried to blink the built in LED and works well.
when i tried to use serial to print a string on terminal, nothing appear and sometimes freeze up the LED blinking. too, i tested the pins connection in the PCB (msp launch pad)
and everything was fine. so what the problem with serial interface?!.

Hi Hosam,

Did you configure the UART correctly as well as the used pins?
Could you share the code you did for the issue?

Thank you for replay. I have just used the Energia toolchain that do every thing for you. and here is the code:

void setup()

{

Serial.begin(9600); /// initialization

}

void loop()

{

Serial.println("Serial test");

delay(1000);

}

Sorry for late reply.

I would suggest you to the TI official developer's resources which include the demo and Peripheral Examples for your design with the MSP-EXP430FR2355.

Energia is an open source & community-driven integrated development environment. I would suggest you to Check out the 43oh.com forums for Energia support.

I have checked the GitHub home page of Energia and it shows no support for the board you used. So that it won't act as expected on your board.
