MSP-GANG: What is the size of the DC adapter?

Hello,

I am interested in using the MSP-GANG programmer in a production environment and using it as a standalone device. Therefore, I plan to provide it with an external DC power supply. After reading through the documentation, I see the electrical specifications I need to meet (6-10V, 800mA, center post is positive), but I cannot find any documentation on what size the connector needs to be. I'm assuming it's a barrel jack connector?

Is this information located in some document? Or was it left out of the user's guide?

Hi Alex,

You are are correct about the external power supply specifications listed in Section 1.3 of the MSP-GANG Programmer (MSP-GANG) User's Guide.

The external power supply comes in-the-box with the MSP-GANG and uses a barrel jack connector. Below is a picture of what the included power supply adapter looks like.

Just taking initial measurements, I would estimate the barrel has an outer diameter of about 5 mm and an inner diameter measurement of about 2.1 mm.

Thank you for the response! I was not aware the MSP-GANG was shipped with a DC power adapter, thank you for telling me about this. Does the MSP-GANG come with any additional accessories? I couldn't find a list of what comes included with the product.

Regarding what comes in the box-

The MSP-GANG includes:

The MSP-GANG device programmer
The Gang Splitter expansion board
8 14-pin JTAG cables to connect the Gang Splitter to eight target devices
An External DC Power Supply

Figure 1-1 of the MSP-GANG Programmer (MSP-GANG) User's Guide shows the MSP Gang Splitter connected to the MSP-GANG programmer. Visit Section 1.3 to learn how to connect the hardware together when you receive your MSP-GANG.
