[FAQ] Apple macOS 10.14 Mojave - Tools/programmer failure & FIX

Hello,

There is an issue impacting users on the latest macOS, Mojave.

Issue:

ezFET fails to be recognized in macOS Mojave / Unable to program MCU targets.

Background:

Apple has changed some fundamental policies regarding USB hardware access and enumeration in their latest OS, Mojave. The issue is the naming convention of the USB device category changed from a "modem" to "RS232 device" in Mojave, so the debugger is no longer recognized.

Our tools team has successfully corrected the issue and has finished their regression testing.  The fix is currently being integrated into the next release of Code Composer Studio, which is tentatively labeled 8.3 and scheduled for release on Nov 30th, 2018.

Workaround:

  1. (Temporary) Downgrade macOS to 10.13 High Sierra earlier.
  2. Update to latest version of Code Composer Studio.

We will update this post when the update for CCS is released.

EDIT: Code Composer Studio v8.3 has been released.  Please see http://www.ti.com/tool/ccstudio for latest release.

Thanks,

JD
