CCS/TIDA-00637: TIDA-00637 Build Errors

Part Number: TIDA-00637

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

I've made the exact circuit described in TIDA-00637 EVSE charger. I loaded the program and I'm getting 20 errors and I can't figure out why. Below are my errors.

  • Which version of CCS are you using? This is an older software package initially designed for CCS 5.2. It will most likely work with newer versions but it might be best to build it with the version of compiler tools it was originally built with (ie) 4.4.6. You can install that version of compiler tools into CCS by following the procedure described in this page:

    http://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/documents/ccs_compiler-installation-selection.html

Then make sure to follow the procedure in the README.CCS file that comes with the TIDA-00637 software.

Let us know if you still experience problems after trying the above suggestions.

  • I was using v9, it showed errors following that link though. So I uninstalled and installed v4. I followed the procedure and everything seems to work nicely except that it doesn't seem to want to build or rebuild the code. In the "C Build" window on the bottom it doesn't show any text like "Build complete". In the Problems window it continues to show no errors. I know this can't be right because I changed some of the text in the code just to test the error window and it continued to show no errors. I've attached a screenshot.

  • After re-reading the README file I noticed I need v5.2 or later so I decided to download v5.5. So far I can import all the files except for 'emeter-app-6736' because it shows this error, "Import failed because its meta-data cannot be interpreted". Should I just keep trying each version of CCS to get this to work? Good news is that in this v5.5 code, the other files (emeter-metrology and emeter-toolkit) do build and it actually shows it executing in the C-Build.
  • I will forward this thread to the MSP430 experts who are more familiar with this software package and should be able to direct you to the recommended version of CCS to use with this.
  • Hi, Please check the C compiler version insiders CCS
