MSP-EXP432E401Y: Mature ecosystem.

Part Number: MSP-EXP432E401Y
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP432E401Y

The MSP432E401Y architecture is so mature. I would say it is a smaller competitor of TMS320 product range. It even has peripheral GPIO bit-banding and PWM sync.

Hope I'll find all answers on a documentation on all its features.

Thanks, TI.

  • For me it is unclear: is it PWM group sync update feature on MSP430E available in predefined phase shifts between groups? (latching different comparator values for different PWM groups at the same time).

  • Hello Alexey,

I apologize but I did not understand what you mean by "group sync update".

Did you already refer to the "Synchronization Methods" sub-section under the PWM chapter of the Technical Reference manual? If so which synchronization are you referring to?

    Thanks,

    Sai

  • Hi Sai,

I already described it before in my previous post. The purpose of the microcontrollers is to solve real world problems and be part of real world solutions. So, when it comes the microcontroller to be a part of power conversion topology like PFC or invertor, the ability to change 6-8 different PWM values at the same time is a critical factor for proper behavior.
On the page 1443 of the technical document you refer it clearly mentioned the ability of MSP432E401Y to make global synchronization with predefined relationship (phases) between all PWM groups using just one command value, which is a great feature. And this is the feature I was talking to.
Hope I will make it work.

    Regards,
    Alexey
  • By saying PWM groups I mean PWM pairs. Probably it is not correct to say that.
