CCS / MSP-EXP430FR6989: MSP-FET: With IAR: Failed to set device voltage

I have this issue with code composer :

Error initializing emulator: A firmware update is required for the MSP430 Debug Interface (MSP-FET430UIF / MSP-FET / eZ-FET)

When I click on update, this get into a loop. If a set ignore this alert me that it cant set Voltage.

Then I try with IAR and the problem continued , but this time I note this:

It seem that dll error ocurrence.

Hi Daniel,

I have a few of questions to better understand your issue:

What version of code composer are you running?
Are you using the on-board ez-FET to program the device (via USB) or an external tool such as the MSP-FET?
What type of USB port is the programmer plugged into - is it USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 or other?

Hi Christopher,
about your questions:
1. I tried with code composer 9.0.0 an the 8.3.1. Additionally I tried with IAR in the last estable version and energia.
2. I am using on-board ez-FET
3. I tried with both of them, but initially I was connecting it to 2.0.

Daniel,

Do you have only 1 board plugged into the computer?
Can you see the eZ-FET in the device manager?

Hi Chris , Yes I have only one booard connected and yes the I can see ez-fet , additionally I note this:

Hi Daniel,

I'm still looking more into what could cause this issue, please allow me some time.

In the meantime, make sure the following hardware/software configurations are in order.

Let me know if any of these methods solve your issue:

Make sure that one end of the USB cable it is plugged into a USB 2.0 port directly into your computer and not something such as USB hub.
The Jumpers are placed as shown in page 10 of the MSP430FR6989 LaunchPad Development Kit User's Guide
Make sure you have uninstalled all previous versions of CCS
Try loading a simple Blink LED program into the LaunchPad through CCS Cloud - this will tell us if the issue is dll related as CCS cloud will install the latest dll version for you
- Blink LED program here
- Click "Import to IDE" on the upper right.
