I currently have a MSP432E401Y launchpad set up with a Wifi uart module ( Xbee S6B) connected to UART 7 (using pins PC4 and PC5) at 115200, 8-N-1.

I would like any information on how to remotely update any program i have executing on the launchpad.

Currently, code updates are done through code composer and a usb cable connected to the board.

The wifi module is set up as a tcp server allowing me to send binary data to the board and retrieve data by running a tcp client program on a pc.

I am thinking of how to leverage on this concept to send data representing the executable code to the launchpad to program it.

If you connect to UART0 then you could utilize the ROM bootloader. www.ti.com/.../slau746a.pdf . I will look to see if there are any software examples available.

Hi Chris,
I downloaded the project and the 'Readme' indicates: "
This example application demonstrates the boot loader implementation over UART. The execution of the example requires a PC Host running the BSL scripter and a BSL Rocket connected to the Boot Loader Header on the MSP-EXP432E401Y LaunchPad. The BSL scripter downloads the application image over UART with the MSP432E4 device configured to flash the application image and then jump to the application image for execution."
It seems to require another piece of hardware 'BSL Rocket' and a usb connected to a PC to work.

Sorry about that. The BSL rocket is used to provide the translation from USB to UART/I2C/SPI. If you need an I2C implementation then the rocket is nice because it already has the I2C pullups. The rocket is also not needed for UART but it is a convenient tool to bridge between the PC and the target.

The BSL scripter source is available here and the documentation here. You would need to port this over to the host MCU.
