MSP430F5437A: Are pins and functions of MSP430F5437A compatible with those of MSP430F2254IDA?

Hello,

I consider redesigning a new product using MSP430F5437A to replace the existing product using MSP430F2254IDA. I need more GPIO pins and ADC channels and would like to reuse HW and SW as much as possible. Can you please advise me if the pins and functions of MSP430F5437A are completely compatible with those of MSP430F2254IDA for HW design?

Sorry, the question should be revised. They want to compare it with pins and functionality of msp430fr5849 instead of MSP430F2254IDA.

Can you please help us know if Pins and functions of MSP430F5437A are compatible with those of msp430fr5849 instead of MSP430F2254IDA?

Hi HJ,

The MSP43FR5849IDA is in a TSSOP package, whereas the MSP430F437A is only available in a 80 pin LQFP package - therefore they will not be pin-to-pin compatible.

In regards to their functions and features, please take a look at the following application report: Migrating from the MSP430F5xx and MSP430F6xx Family to the MSP430FR58xx/FR59xx/68xx/69xx Family which will discuss the main differences and how to migrate to the new device.

Is there a specific function or pin(s) you are concerned about in regards to compatibility?

I mapped pins of MSP43FR5849IDA to that of MSP430F437A and attached the file. Can you please review them? I'm SW engineer and mapped it in SW perspective. Your advice will be really helpful.
