Once I set the JTAG lock in code by chaning the JTAG/SBW Signature, is it possible to disable the lock in code? Lets say I implement a lock() and unlock() function that is triggered by certain events? I would like to avoid having to unlock it via the BSL.

Yes, lock can be disabled by code, writing back key bytes to factory default 0FFh. JTAG/SBW lock for this device can be also disabled by JTAG/SBW interface with USER_CODE_ERASE command. No need for unlocking with BSL.

Where can I issue the USER_CODE_ERASE command in CCS or is there a different software tool I need?

Thank you. I see that in both uniflash and CCS. So is the only way to set the jtag lock is programatically through my code?

JTAG fuse (un)lock can be done by SBW / JTAG interface by any TI software (CCS, Uniflash or MSP430Flasher). Or with executing code on device by itself.
