I used a MSP430FR6877 IPNR, an application code in a year after the operation of the phenomenon of continuous reset, re-power can not be resolved, I tried to check the hardware power supply, reset circuit, crystal oscillator, no problem, and did A to B cross-test, I wrote a minimum system code, configure only P7. 6IO, when I set the output of P7.6 to reproduce the problem that can be 0, and set the output of p7.6 to 1, the problem was solved.

Hey Honle,

I'm sorry, I couldn't fully understand the issue. Are you saying that you device was in an application for a year and then started resetting?

A power cycle did not fix the issue, but reprogramming the board did?

My first thought is that maybe somehow the FRAM is being overwritten. Are you using the memory protection unit, MPU?

Rewriting the code didn't solve the problem. I downloaded the code of a minimal system. If I configure P7.6 output 0, the problem will arise.

Hey Honle,

Are you saying that the MSP430 will run other code, but as soon as you set that pin to output causes a reset? Is P7.6 connected to anything?

Have you tried running a basic toggle GPIO on that pin?

I tried to use MPU, but the problem was the same.When I only set P7.6 output 0, the MCU is normal, and if GPIO switches output 1 mcu, it will reset.When I only set P7.6 output 0, other GPIOs also output 0, MCU is normal.

Hello Honle,

I'm still not sure what's happening here. Toggling a random GPIO should not have any impact of the MCU reset and this is an issue I've never seen. Especially if this GPIO isn't connected to anything.

How do you know the MCU is reseting?

It sounds like maybe the MCU has been damaged or that the software is doing something else related that is causing an issue/reset.

Can you try running very simple code on your MCU. There is a toggle GPIO example here: http://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?node=AEPHUcd-LMg57qYEUKcoAA__IOGqZri__LATEST

Try the example as is first and then change it to P7.6 and let me know the test results.
