MSP-FET430UIF: MSP FET interface communication error

Hi,

I have faced an issue while programming one of my prototype board with MSP-FET and mspdebug, while trying to burn the hex files the device prompted an error message

"tilib: Interface communication error",I am using the pogo adapter to make the necessary connections with the microcontroller to burn the code, I have checked the pogo pins and there is no short circuit.

I have attached the error message and the whole arrangement I used to burn the program reference.Can anybody suggest a solution.

System features: Ubuntu 16.04 64 bit

Hello,

The interface communication error could be the result of a variety of issues. It could be from connections being routed incorrectly in the schematic, the programmer itself, the passives around the MCU (specifically the reset line) might not be wired correctly, etc....

Could you provide schematics for the 2 boards you are using so that we can see if the signals are being routed correctly?

Hi,

The issue was solved by updating the libmsp430.so as per the instructions from the link https://dlbeer.co.nz/articles/slac460y/index.html after doing this the "tilib" worked well for some days then again it shows the same error(interface communication error).

But the whole arrangement worked well in CCS(windows).At the same time CCS 7.0.0 in ubuntu shows the "interface communication error".

Hari,

The fact that it can be working for an extended period of time with no issues and then all of a sudden stop working would initially point me in the direction of some sort of hardware related issue causing sporadic device initialization errors. Are you able to confirm this same phenomena with alternate boards, a different programmer, or perhaps another computer? I am trying to figure out where we can isolate the problem to.
