MSP430FR6043: Problem with limits

Good day.
Our company develops new gas meters and we want to use your controller MSP430FR6043. We have several questions:
1. When the values of the time difference between the flow and against the flow (Delta TOF) of about 20,000 ns, there is a limitation in the calculation of flow. Is it possible to expand the range?
2. Is it possible to set the frequency of the probe pulses (Pulse output frequency) to 100 kHz? We can’t to set this frequency using the USSWLib library.

    Please find answers below:

    1. The maximum dToF shift can be increased by increasing USS_ALG_MAX_SAMPLE_SHIFT in the USS_userConfig.h file from 20 to a larger number.

    2. The minimum supportable frequency of the FR6043 PPG is 133kHz.

    Thank's a lot. Your answer to the first question was useful. The minimum possible value of the PPG frequency that we were able to set is 160kHz. Could you tell us what we are doing wrong?

    Hi Andrew,

    You need to reduce the HSPLL frequency to 68MHz. This will also give you a lower sampling frequency.

    The USS_HSPLL_FREQ_IN_MHZ parameter in the USS_userConfig.h file was set to 68, but this was not enough. What have I done wrong? What more needs to be done?

    Hi Andrey,

    If you are running from the header files, you can't update via the GUI and expect the same parameters to be there. You should export the header files from the GUI into your project and then change the HSPLL setting before rebuilding. You can then connect to the GUI and capture an ADC signal to confirm you are getting the lower sampling frequency. Please note that the sampling frequency should also be reduced from 1000 to 850.

     1. Set the parameters in the USS Design Center and create header files.


     


    2. Compiled and programmed the project in the EVM430FR6043 board

    3. Errors appear when trying to connect to the MCU.

    Hi Andrey,

    I noticed that you are using a previous release of the GUI. Please download the latest version of the software and GUI(and reflash your board) - these can be found here:

    http://software-dl.ti.com/msp430/msp430_public_sw/mcu/msp430/USSSWLib/USSSWLibGas/latest/

    If the GUI version is out of sync with the image on the EVM, the generated header files may not work properly.

    I did everything as you said. I installed a new version of the software. Now it is not possible to set the parameter (signal sampling frequency) to 850.

    We don't currently support this lower sampling rate in our GUI. I'm working with our developers to determine when this might be changed.
