CAPTIVATE-FR2633: Humidity and Temperature Sensing

Part Number: CAPTIVATE-FR2633

Hello,

Is it possible to use this EVM for humidity and temperature sensing? The customer is looking for an EVM to which he can connect electrodes he designed & manufactured himself. The aim is to measure temperature and humidity using these electrodes.

I've been searching the TI website for reference, but there seems to be no available documentation for capacitive humidity and temperature sensing.

Can you please advise?

Thank you!!

  • Hell Elisha,

Unfortunately not really.  The CAPTIVATE-FR2633 measures changes in capacitance so its measurements are 'relative' vs. 'absolute' as would be required for measuring ambient humidity.

TI does have standalone humidity and temperature sensors, such as  HDC1080.

Can I ask what type of electrodes your customer has designed?
