MSP430F5152: Losing Data Out when entering an alarm state

Part Number: MSP430F5152

We are using the MSP430F5152 in one of our latest projects and we have had an instance where 8 out of the 13 devices on a test loop had disappeared upon entering an alarm state. Upon inspection of these devices we have 3v3 supply to the micro and data reaching the datain pin but no data out.

I have tried to reflash the device to no avail, the USBFET does not recognise the device (note: I do have JTAG lock enabled). Is there anything else we can do to try and determine if we have a SW corruption issue or damage to the silicon ?

  • Hi Calum,

Have you already tried power cycling including discharging any supercaps on your board(s)?

    What message do you get?

If the silicon is OK, you should be able to reflash through the FET.
