Does this device support sending Jumbo packet sizes? If so, are there any examples I could take a look at?
Thanks.

Hi Sean,
I have not seen any code examples of jumbo packets, but I will ask around and see if this is supported. I will let you know what I can find.
Sean,
I have confirmed that we cannot support jumbo packets. The ethernet frame size is limited to 1500 bytes.
Hi Eddie,
I found in the TI Network Developers (NDK) User's Guide stating Jumbo frames support and can be built into an application by linking with libraries compiled for Jumbo frame support. (section 1.3.1).
It also stated:
"Libraries with Jumbo Frame support (for packet sizes larger than 1500 bytes) are not included in the NDK installation. If you want NDK libraries with Jumbo Frame support enabled, you will need to #define the _INCLUDE_JUMBOFRAME_SUPPORT pre-processor definition and rebuild the libraries as described in the Rebuilding the NDK Core topic in the TI Embedded Processors Wiki."
Is this not possible with the MSP432?
Thanks,
Sean
Is that a software or hardware limitation?Eddie LaCost said:The ethernet frame size is limited to 1500 bytes.
The MSP432E4 SimpleLink™ Microcontrollers Technical Reference Manual has the JFEN bit in the Ethernet MAC Configuration (EMACCFG) register:
I searched for JFEN in the code for:Chester Gillon said:Is that a software or hardware limitation?
[The reason for searching the TM4C code was the MSP432E and TM3C129 devices use the same EMAC module]
The only reference to JEFN was in the EMACConfigGet() function in driverlib\emac.c, to determine the currently configured maximum receive packet size. I.e. can't see any existing code to set the JEFN bit to enable Jumbo Frame support.
Not sure how easy it would be to modify the NDK to enable Jumbo Frames on a MSP432E device.
Could the following set of instructions be used to try and recompile the NDK for Jumbo Frames?
I was informed that the frame size is limited to 1500 bytes as the EMAC does not support other sizes.
