MSP430F5659: USB not getting detected in the new board

Hi,

I have designed a board with msp430f5659. I have taken care of all the USB related recommendations from the below document while designing the board.

I am using 24M crystal in XT2 port. Attaching the schematic section for the MCU and USB below. USB is not getting enumerated when connected the board to the system.

Tried changing the crystal (20M, 32M) with the recommended caps and still the issue persists.

Kindly advice.

Hi,

Its a new IC that was soldered to the board. To start with there is no firmware loaded.

Connecting to the system, its not showing up in the device manager list. I am using the MSP430 HID USB application to read the VID, PID first.

I have read some of the voltage points and the voltages are fine. For example, VUSB, V1p8, DVCC,AVCC,VBUS voltages are fine to start with.

I am planning to program the boot loader through USB (using PUR & RSTB pins as signal to write to the boot loader).

Hi,

There was some issue with XT2 load cap because of which it was not oscillating. Fixing that solved the issue.
