Hello team,

Our customer is interested in CAPTIVATE solution. We introduced msp430FRxxxx Captivate technology and received some inquiries about power consumption.

1. Regarding 'CapTIvate BSWP demonstration board ', when MSP430FR2633 entered LPM3, how many Power consumption indicate with default-firmware? According to MSP430FR2633 datasheet " 5.7 Low-Power Mode (LPM3 and LPM4) Supply Currents", we can see some power-consumption data, like ' 1 button, wake on touch', however, we'd like to know actual data. Could you share this data with us , please?

2. we showed this foil(Wake on touch Comsumption.pdf). Regarding above power consumption of ' wake on touch' condition, does this consumption show continuously ?

3. After wake-up from LPM3, when MSP430FR2633 entered Active state(Idle) on CAPTIVATE-BSWP, how many Power consumption indicate with this default-firmware? Could you share this data, please?

The reason why customer is asking is that, it is difficult to estimate actual power consumption during datasheet.

4. During active state, How long does it take from the detection of "touch" to "preparing data"? would you have any data for this? if not so, it will be appreciated if you will share your expert's comments on this.

Customer is asking the default firmware with CapTIvate-BSWP-board. I really appreciate if you will be able to share your advice/comments on those inquiries.

thanks for contacting the forum.

I don't have all answers to the questions at the moment, I will try to find more.

At the beginning I would advice to have a look into our Technology guide in general and specifically to the Low Power section, which contains all the actual information.

In this section you can see different configurations with the resulting values. Some of the parameters depend on the requirements of the final design.

I assume that this is a first study from the customer on CapTIvate, but can you tell more about the final design (basic requirements in number of buttons, size, how often to scan etc.)? Based on that we can do some assessments on the timings and power consumption.

Regarding the duration for a scan cycle, in the design GUI (double click on the MCU) there is a Scan Time Estimator for the current design. This will give you a good estimation.

Also as additional document I would suggest to have a look (customer may have done that already) in the BSWP section and the CapTIvate Design Flow AN.

Let me know if that helps to answer at least some of the questions.
