MSP432E401Y: HowTo use SPIFFS and fopen fclose file access functions from stdio.h ?

Hi,

I did implement SPIFFS on the NVS to get a flat file system mainly for storing test-scripts and small configuration files. Somehow I would like to use the fopen, fclose functions.

Is there a wrapper available that bridges between SPIFFS functions or do I misunderstand something here? The file handling functions should be driver agnostic, not knowing that the underlying system is using SPIFFS and NVS on the MSP432. Any hint would be appreciated.

Hi Johnson,

thank you for the links. I did digg a little bit deeper. In order to use what ever target of a file system like device from the C std library perspective, I would need to add what people call a VFS. A virtual file system layer. ESP has some nice info about it. Actually I may do it at some point in time. Not now. It may not be a to big issue, since it exists for the ESP community which is or was using SPIFFS as well. Once this is done, it is rather cool just to open, close, read and write files as you were on a unix like system, where 'everything is a file' ... ;-)
