MSP430FR2433: Extending the length SBW connection

Using no / isolated capacitor on RESET pin with minimum available SBW clock speed, will enable error free interface on  longer cable.

Zrno's idea is correct if you don't request normal speed SWB. It is low cost solution. 

It is not good idea to add buffer on SBW signals because the SBW are timing sensitive and the buffer will change the timing for SBW. But if the length for the SBW signals are too long and in case you have to add the buffer, please guarantee the timing specification in section 5.11.10 (debug and emulation) of the MSP430FR2433 datasheet for the 2 pins at package side. Another point need to be taken care is that the RST/SBWTDIO is bi-direction pin for which both input and output timing needs to be checked and the bi-direction buffer also needs to be used.

Also, what to costumer is extend length? 50 or 100 cm?

As I said, use the buffer but the delays for the two signals should be similar so as to no violation for the SBW timing specification on the package pins.

My customers cable length would be 3ft. Is slowing the clock sufficient? Also what could be the optimal speed for this?

Depend on capacitor value on RESET pin (isolated or not) and used FET. Costumer can try it on 90 cm cable with minimum speed and will see is it possible or not.
