MSP430FR5739: register SYSRSTIV gives value of 0x0A

Part Number: MSP430FR5739

Team,

Hope you can help answer my customer's question:

About 5% of the time when I power up my system, the micro (MSP430FR5739) continuously resets and the register SYSRSTIV gives me a value of 0x0A. This loop continues until a full power cycle is performed.

I can find in the datasheet that a value of 0x0A is a “Security Violation” but I can find no documentation on what that means.

  • Does TI have some insight on why this reset is happening only some of the time on a single unit?
  • Why a power cycle corrects the issue while a reset does not?
  • And if there is any documentation on what a “Security Violation” means?

I would appreciate your guidance.

Thanks

Viktorija
