Thanks for your quick response
Can I connect EVM430-f6779 to my PC via re232 wirelessly instead of using serial cable?
Hi Ezzidin,
What is means about RE232 wirelessly?
You can use RS232 to connect your EVM board with GUI, as follow:
More details about EVM430-F6779, you can refer to this document:

Please help me where can I find the source folder?
because in the direction of GUI "C:\ti\msp\EnergyMeasurementDesignCenter_1.40.00.03", I can't find the source folder
Than you
Hi Ezzidin,
The Energy Measurement Design Center GUI be able to generate code according to your configuration, some details you can refer to this link:

Hi dear,
I want to use In-Home Display (IHD) wireless modules as shown in the figure with EVM430-F6779.
How can I get the modules compatible with EVM430-F6779?
Can IHD430 connect to PC?
Is there any other wireless module compatible with EVM430-F6779?
Thank you
Hi Ezzidin,
It looks like the picture you upload encounter some problem, could you upload again?

Hi Dear,
I have tried to interface EVM430-F6779 to PC GUI using RS233 to USB series cable, however, I can't get any result.
I followed the EVM430-F6779 manual instruction as shown in the figure below but it is missing some details such as how can I find the track of source folder?
please if anyone can help me by learning me step by step instruction to connect evm430-f6779 to my PC.
Thank you
Ezzidin
Hi Ezzidin,
Did you load example code into MCU before use GUI to connected this EVM Board?
Best Regards

Hi Dear Johnson,
This is your reply to my question
"Did you load example code into MCU before use GUI to connected this EVM Board?"
my answer:
No, I don't load example code into MCU.
Please can give me more details for this code and how can I load the code and from where can get it?
Thank you for your patient
Ezzidin
Hi Ezzidin,
Sorry to reply you too late, wish those answer be useful for you.
You need to download demo into MCU before connect the GUI, you can use GUI to gerenate the demo or found this firmware in the install floder.
Thanks!
Best Regards
Johnson

The legacy IAR-based software described in SLAA577 uses the RS232 port. If you're using the EMDC GUI, you'll need to use the F5529 LaunchPad (as HID bridge) and MSP-ISO (for high voltage isolation) and some jumper wires. Please see the Dependencies and Out-of-Box Experience sections in the EMDC Technology Guide. Please note that the software details and instructions found in SLAA577 are outdated, but the hardware details including the schematic, high voltage connections and jumper settings still apply for EMDC.

James
Hello,
The EMDC GUI allows you to log data to an Excel file. The legacy GUI you're showing in your last post does not have that capability. Please see my earlier post about switching to the EMDC GUI and the necessary communication boards.

Hi Drear,
Thank you for your assist.
Can I view the results of the EVM430F6779 on the RS232 serial monitor without using GUI?
If yes, please help me on how to do it.
Thank you
Ezzidin
Hello,
It's possible but not easy to do. I would recommend using the EMDC communication boards and connections.
If you must use the RS-232 port, here's what you'll need to do. Generate the code using the EMDC example project (this preserves the calibration factors, otherwise you'll need to calibrate the EVM), import the code into CCS, manually change the baud rate from 250k baud to something slower in the code (since the RS-232 port probably can't handle 250k baud reliably) and program your board with MSP-FET. After power cycling it and connecting it to your PC with RS-232 cable and USB adapter, you can send the EMDC start command to the board from a terminal. Your board will start sending the data every 1 second. You'll need to parse the data.
Refer to the EMDC Communication Protocol section in the EMDC Technology Guide.

James
