MSP430F5418A target board

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-TS430PN80, MSP-TS430PN80A, MSP-TS430PN80USB

Is there an 80-pin target board for the 5418?

  • Terry,

Unfortunately no, the 80 pin target boards only support:

    1. MSP-TS430PN80 (for MSP430F241x, MSP430F261x, MSP430F43x, MSP430F43x1, MSP430FG43x, MSP430F47x, and MSP430FG47x devices in 80-pin PN packages)
    2. MSP-TS430PN80A (for MSP430F532x devices in 80-pin PN packages)
    3. MSP-TS430PN80USB (for MSP430F552x devices with USB peripheral in 80-pin PN packages)

My suggestion for the customer would be to develop using the MSP4305438 Experimenter's Board: http://www.ti.com/tool/msp-exp430f5438

  • Austin is right.

For testing/evaluation, the 5438A 100-pin target board can be used with a 5419A processor. The 5419A and the 5418A are identical except for the additional ports and the two additional USCI modules. So if these additional pins are not used, the software as well as any attached hardwar ecan be later used 1:1 on a PCB for the 80 pin device.
