Hi,

I'm developing charge controller product based on " MSP430F5132". ( Similar like PMP7647).

My question is:

1. Which is the suitable download cable require to program MSP 430 device? eZ - FET or eZ- FET lite or launch pad development kit? Can i use launch pad for development activities as well to program the other MSP devices? ( Computer -----> download cable ----> MSP device)

2. Do i need to make eZ - FET lite based on eZ- FET lite rev 1.10 available in TI web page? to program MSP430 device.

Kindly clarify.

To answer your first question: Yes, you can. eZ-FET (lite) utilizes Spy-Bi-Wire. See this link for further information: www.ti.com/.../slau647k.pdf

To answer your second question: No, you do not. Some MSP430s can be programmed using their built-in bootloaders, and all can be programmed using JTAG / SPy-Bi-Wire. All you need is a MSP-FET device such as the MSP-FET430UIF. Just insure you have the programming connections available in the end product.
