RTOS/MSP430F5508: Does it support F5508?

Part Number: MSP430F5508
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5529

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

Hi,

I want to try the TI-RTOS. Going through the document, I'm a little confused. Does the RTOS support MSP430F5508?

I modified tirtos.mak to include the MSP430F5508 in MSP430DEVLIST. I did not see a folder for MSP4305508 folder after generate the examples. So I imported an example for MSP430F5529 (the launch board), then I changed the target device to be MSP4305508. It did not work neither.

Went back to check the RTOS get start document, it does not tell me what is the next step after the example is generated? For example, I want to use the empty example, what do I need to do for the MSP430F5508.

thanks

Peng

  • Hello Peng,

TI-RTOS does not natively support MSP430F5508. It does support the MSP430F5529 however. These devices are in the same family, so most of what is written will apply. You will need to port over TI-RTOS to the MSP430F5508 if you want to use it. this would mainly consist of changing the HAL files to match the MSP430F5508 instead of the MSP430F5529.
