MSP430FR2310: MSP430FR2310 is going to some unwanted address and code is getting blocked (not runnig).and working only when i power cycled the board

Part Number: MSP430FR2310

I am using the battery to power on  msp430fr2310.battery was drained completely . I Have charged the battery to max voltage .at that state code in the msp430 is not working.if we given the power cycle to msp430 then only msp430 is started to work again.

I think msp430 is going to some unwanted state during low battery and getting struck there?what might be the reason

In which cases msp430 will go to unwanted address?

  • Hey Thumu,

What state is the MSP430 in when the battery goes low? I assume it's asleep. Is the Supply Voltage Supervisor (SVS) enabled?

Would a reset help at all or did it have to be a full power cycle?

Section 2.2.2 of the MSP430FR2310 User's Guide describes the behavior of the SVS. If enabled, it should detect when DVcc drops below SVSh and generate a BOR which holds the device in reset until DVcc is restored. This should the same as any other reset.

If the SVS is not enabled and the DVcc drops below the 1.8V spec, then correct operation can not be gauranteed.

    Thanks,
    JD
  • Hey Thumu,

Were you able to figure out what was going on in your system?

    Thanks,
