I work at a CM; we have a fair amount of trouble programming the TI MSP4302617. When using the Uniflash latest version there are errors when I download the ,txt file. If we use the msp430flasher...it also cannot do the verify step. There are errors not matter how we attempt to program the part. My tool is a bit out of date; it is the msp430-FET-UIF. It is not the new black box..but the older unit. Uniflash updates it..and it appears to recognize the tool. What we observe is that in Uniflash...the device is recognized as MSP430F2618? On the device itself it is written MSP430F2617? I believe this is the root of the errors for all the flash programmers...need help resolving..please.

Hello Russ,

I would like to try to isolate the issue to either the FET itself, Uniflash, or the device/board.

Have you tried programming with another tool like CCS or Elprotronic Flash programmer?

If you have a MSP-FET(black box), can you try with that?

On the board you are programming, are the components and signals connected properly? See figure 2-1 and 2-2 of the users guide below for the correct connections.

Well, That is one issue...I only have one msp430-FET-UIF. I also have been unable to get a different software to run the debugger. I actually was hoping this issue had come up before and someone new why or what causes it. To me it appears after programming hundreds of ICs....the software recognizing the '2617 as a '2618 is the root of the problem.

I have not seen this misidentification of the IC before, but agree sounds like the root of the problem. Can you please provide the errors that are reported with Uniflash?
