MSP430FR59xx prospects

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430FR2355, MSP430F2617, MSP430FR5994, MSP430F2274

Hi TI team,

are there any plans to add MSP430FR2xx (e.g. ICC, SAC) or MSP430F5xx (e.g. Timer D, DAC) specific peripherals to the MSP430FR59xx subfamily? Is there a prospect that there will be 24MHz FRAM-based MSP430s with DMAs in the near future?

Why do I ask? I need to upgrade some old devices with MSP430F2274 and MSP430F2617 and considering what MCU to use. I would like to migrate to a FRAM-based MSP430, but I also need higher performance (more DMA channels or higher CPU frequency). I'm considering both FRAM subfamilies (specifically MSP430FR5994 and MSP430FR2355), but something is missing in both. The MSP430FR59xx subfamily has no DACs and is slower than MSP430F2xx and MSP430FR235x has no DMAs. There is currently no part that meets all requirements, but MSP430FR59xx seems more promising if it is valid that there is no plan to have DMAs in the MSP430FR2xx subfamily (e2e.ti.com/.../831904).

Thanks
Tomas
